Here are some screenshots, I especially love the fact that I got Codium to match the matcha theme (if you’re interested it’s called Borealis theme). emacs+auctex is the best and there is not really any room for discussion. It truly is a great flagship distro for Manjaro (I’ve also tried Sway for my Pi 400, and Lomiri for my Pinephone, also great in their own right, but XFCE is definitely one of the best imho). emacs and vim are not user friendly lets talk about user-friendly editors TeXstudio is good but oldish, overleaf great but browser based Anything else The question was what is the best, not what is the easiest for a moron to use. Even my scanner works (gotta love iscan) and my wacom tablet worked out of the box! I was able to even install thinkorswim for stock trading (don’t really do much of it, but it was nice to see it works!). These programs have happily allowed me to relieve myself of that unnecessarily expensive Adobe subscription… This will generate a hard link called documentlink.tex. Then type: mklink /H documentlink.tex document.tex. Therefore TeXstudio has numerous features like syntax-highlighting, integrated viewer, reference checking, and various assistants. Our goal is to make writing LaTeX as easy and comfortable as possible. This is a feature where LaTeX code is replaced or made invisible when your cursor is not on that. The last two lines configure the concealment. Lets assume your document is called document.tex. TeXstudio is an integrated writing environment for creating LaTeX documents. Using vim-plug, I configured it as follows: Plug 'lervag/vimtex' let g:texflavor'latex' let g:vimtexviewmethod'zathura' let g:vimtexquickfixmode0 set conceallevel1 let g:texconceal'abdmg'. In normal mode, you can use the > or < command followed by a motion to indent/unindent the lines covered by that motion. To add a hardlink in NTFS filesystem you need to start cmd with administrator rights by pressing the WIN key, typing cmd, clicking 'run as administrator'. Before using TeXstudio, you should configure the editor and latex related commands via the Configure TeXstudio command in the Options. You can pass these commands a 'count' to indent/unindent the visual block by multiple shiftwidth s. I also like to make comics from time to time, so I also have Krita, Inkscape, and Gimp. If you have the block visually selected, then you can use the > command to indent it and the < command to unindent it. Can we do the same in Texstudio This would help a lot if I wanted to update the size of the brackets (e.g. I have Irssi for chat, but almost never use it honestly. Coming from vim, if you place your cursor on the opening/closing bracket (block in vim speak) you can hit the character to jump back and forth between the opening/closing bracket. And also I have the Tor Browser if I ever need to see what I wish I could unsee… I set up keyboard shortcuts so XFCE can act sort of like a TWM (vim navigation keys snap windows to edges of screen and keyboard bindings for nearly all my programs all accessed with the Super Key + first letter of program…and yes, Super+Enter gives me the Terminal Emulator) (and I just discovered it comes prepackaged with i3 as well, which I have yet to play around with, but will).įor some security, I’ve got protonvpn set up as well as ufw (I’ll get around to learning iptables).įor more basic text editing, I like vim, but I’ve also got micro which is like nano but better imho.įor browsing, I’ve downloaded and hardened Librewolf for general browsing and also have Firefox Developer Edition as I learn how to code JavaScript (both Librewolf and Firefox have Manjaro matcha dark sea theme installed as well). I set up Vim extensions everywhere (Vimium in the browser, Vim in Codium). It greets me when I open up with bpytop from the xfce terminal (I also have alacritty for use with Vim). I’ve set up VS Codium with a beautiful theme that matches the matcha sea green. There are lots of quirks because AutoHotKey doesn't know the current cursor location, and OneNote behaves differently based on the cursor location.I’ve been using Manjaro XFCE for nearly two months now and after having tweaked it quite a bit, I finally got everything set up the way I want. E.g., AFAIK, all the editors using Qt (e.g., TeXstudio or TexMaker), while available on Windows, compile extremely slowly there. Numbers can be used before a motion to repeat it. This is only a related comment but: If the choice of TeX distribution has little effect on performance, I would argue that being able to use an editor under WSL would be far more important. (Motion) Forward to end of word, before spaceĮnter insert mode before cursor/at start of lineĮnter insert mode after curser/at end of line REM Launch AutoHotKey passing vim_onenote as the script name.Ĭ:\gits\Vim-Keybindings-For-Onenote>\bin_drop\AutoHotkey.exe vim_onenote.ahkīelow are some of the key bindings implemented (if this table is stale, feel free to update it) KeysĮnter normal mode (makes VIM key bindings active)
